Lucas Xue

A student's journey to make science move

About the Creator
Hi! I'm Lucas Xue, a high school junior from California with a passion for science, research, and running. Born with hearing loss, I've turned this personal experience into a catalyst for scientific exploration. In the summer of 2024, I joined UC San Diego's REHS summer research program, where I investigated potential treatments for genetic hearing loss.
My research journey has taught me valuable lessons about scientific inquiry and resilience that I'm excited to share with you through this platform. But more than that, I want to bridge my athletic pursuits with scientific advocacy. This spring, I'm organizing a walkathon to raise funds for hearing loss and genetic disease research, because I believe that every step forward—whether in research or on the track—brings us closer to breakthrough discoveries.

Join Our Mission
Small actions can create meaningful change. This spring's virtual walkathon will turn each lap into support for vital genetic disease research. Every step you take helps fund the kind of research I've experienced firsthand.
